delay to replace big box DMM

hi fuzzies. i need a replacement for my DMM big box for touring. something that can fit on to a pedaltrain nano+ size board, and does everything that the memory man does. must have modulation... dely time isn;t a huge worry, don't need tap tempo. basically just a nice warm sounding delay that can get modulated.

i'm thinking about getting an el capistan. i had one a few years ago and loved it but the dmm kicked it out of my collection. is the deco better???

thanks!!!!

If your At a strymon and a DMM exact replacement, i would look into the brigadier.

i will check that out. specifically looking for something where the modulation is vibrato... would like to not get two separate pedals

It won't sound too much like a DMM, but the malekko dark ekko 616 is pretty cool. Or maybe an echopuss?

Edit: both of these have chorus modulation. What about a Memory Boy?

the memory boy was pretty rad and have a deluxe now which is awesome but has a lot of options
and can get really weird very easily
just sayin'

Meet Maude by fairfield circuitry sounds great, Has RANDOM modulation and has an effects loop for the delays only. It's not terribly large...how small are you needing dimension-wise?

Is the DMM XO too big?

I just traded a DMB I bought to replace a big box DMM I stupidly traded a few years ago. The modulation on the DMB gets really weird really fast. Not the same as the DMM though a cool pedal in it's own right.

Don't have personal experience with it but the subdecay anamnesis looks pretty cool

Gigahearts made a few PT2399 based DMM work-a-likes didn't he? I don't know if he is building or what the turn around time would be, but he makes really good stuff too.

The Alexander Pedals Amnesia delay is meant to be a digital emulation of the DMM, with a switch for different chips from the different versions. Never played one, but it sounds cool in demos.

I'm quite a big DMM freak, the only ones that actually are just as good for me so far are the following:
80 Tape In Limbo II
Dr Scientist ILF Day Delay
Electro Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man 550TT
Smallsound Bigsound No Memory

It depends on what you want but I also quite dig the Electro Harmonix Deluxe Memory Boy.
And indeed the Gigahearts FX PT2399 DMM.
The Chase Bliss Tonal Recall might be good too.

That's what I was gonna recommend. Memory Boy/Toy sound great, cheap, and you can pick another up on the road with ease in a pinch.

Skreddy Echo? I love the modulation on mine.
For reference (obviously there's millions of these on youtube, but I think this one shows the differences/similarities nicely in short time, also the riff is nice):

Yeah, I have one. Not sure how many are floating around, maybe I have the only one? But I can vouch for its quality and sound. It's the standard by which I guage all other delays. Though, I think my footswitch is dying. Easy fix. It's built on a Dirt baby board, for what that's worth.
