Weirdish light overdrives

What kind of weirdish ODs are out there in pedal land? I have a Infanem Driving notion and love it..was kind of looking for something in that vein of kind of sputtery, gritty, crackly OD to go along with it.

I have a fuckOD, and I really like the splat on that but kind of wish there was more of it with the drive up.

Stuff I've looked at/considering:

Mountain King Decomposer (I'd buy this in a second if it wasn't so pricey for the splat...plus it makes the flashbulb noise in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre)
Infanem Improbability Drive (can't find them anywhere)
Recovery Mount Olympus
Fairfield Barber Shop
Retromechanical Overdriver

Everyone's probably going to recommend the Mini

i wouldn't say the barbershop gets weird but can certainly get different textures with the sag knob

Haven't tried it but how about a demo tape fuzz set to low gain could maybe be something?

Yep Mid-Fi Overdrive is my choice.
Mid-Fi Demo Tape Fuzz could do light OD too (my favorite fuzz pedal).
Hungry Robot LG should be concidered too (haven't tried yet).

It's not an OD, but then again the Four Eyes doesn't exactly sound like a typical fuzz. Definitely some more OD type tones to be had, and a good bit of weird to be had with the filter. I definitely like it at lower gain settings.

I'm interested in the same kind of things, which ones of these play well with bass and/or keyboards/synths ?

I use a Fuck with all of the above, low gain RATs can also do this sorta deal and they sound rad with those.

Definitely recommend the improbability drive for what you're describing if you can find one. Sputtery weird overdrive all day long, it has a lot of sounds in it.

Driving Notion was also awesome with my bass and when I had a microkorg. Highly recommended. And there's one for $75 right now in Danny W's thread.

The very first Mellowtone pedal The Singing Tree OD was great.

Boneshaker is deceptively light as a distortion. :idk: The Paraeq makes it able to do all sorts of weird shit.

Nah, son. It was the HCFX OD to start. I remember winning the first one in a contest there. Actually the first Fix'd Fuzz too. How on earth did I win things...
