It looks like a tele fucked a gretsch and a mosrite or something, and this was the mutant that was born. I think I want one, but dat price.

Loving how they approached the F holes too. Most of the time F holes look like srs business, but this just looks fun and whimsical and stuff.

Is the Mercury meant to be like the Bo Diddly guitar? I'd love to stick a Bigsby on one (but I'd love to stick a Bigsby on most guitars )

Yeah, that's what I mean! It has this cartoon/children's book look to it. Also, it reminds me how much I want a (semi) hollow body guitar with Zappa's facial hair as the F hole. I toyed around with the idea a few years ago, but I've never really built anything before, so I'm not gonna attempt it with a (semi) hollow guitar, and having one built would be pretty expensive. Someday...

(Not to hijack syl's thread, but) you could build one Danelectro-style and use Masonite as a top.

That wouldn't be too expensive to cut a "Zappa moustache" f-hole in.

Also, just noticed that they're using one of those Wilkinson roller things on the guitar in OP. Love how those bridges feel. So much more comfortable to palm mute on than a normal TOM imo. The only real problem I have with the one on my jaguar is that the low string jumps the saddle sometimes, but that's more from low tunings + light strings than anything else. Not sure why I cared enough to point that out, but whatever...

The super bee is pretty much my favourite dodge.
This series doesn't capture any of those "feels", but they're kinda cool, regardless.
