Double & up type of effects

I feel like there are a bunch of pedals that have been made over the past few years that elaborate on the concept of having different families of effects incorporated into a single box.

Noticeable examples would be the Mid-Fi clari(not), strymon deco, the bitquest (although I think the bitquest is too many effects in such a small enclosure with only one footswitch), a geiger counter i guess? i've never messed with one of those personally. i know a bunch of chorus pedals inadvertently also can become a vibrato pedals, but what have you had experience with? what's (remotely) practical? what's not?

i love the clari(not) on my board and I've been in the process of simplifying it so I figured some double-type effects might enable that.

I'm always intrigued with double boxes which effect it excels more at. Like the procession is a reverb with the option of adding a filter. Sort of an extreme example of favoring one effect. And the ease of getting to each distinct sound is a big factor, like the case of the bit quest.

I wish there were some boss doubles. . Like a boss chorus and tremolo in a box slightly smaller than their normal double foot switch pedals. I know they have huge multi effect dealios, but that's a big commitment space wise.

That's because they're almost the same effect. Both are based on low frequency modulation of the time of a small delay line (a few ms), the chorus has the dry signal mixed in while the vibrato is only the wet signal.

I don't get the idea that the BitQuest has too much for one box. A spin chip is capable of 8 different patches. Why not put them all on there and let the user decide if there are one or two that are rad? I get tired of seeing builders put out pedal after pedal based on the spin and they are only using 1 patch and then charging you 150 bucks or more for the privilege. Then a week or two later they put out another pedal with another patch...

It's the biggest space saver in my board, as it takes care of most of those "one song" effects. :snax: there are things I'd tweak in it, but it's good as is.

There's no doubt that the bitquest is an excellent pedal for a whole slew of reasons, but the biggest grievance I had with mine was that I commonly got overwhelmed by the amount of amazing things it could do that I never ended up using it. Its without a doubt my favorite missing link to any board.

That being said, I've always thought that if I went down the bitquest road again I would need to have two of them or none  that way I could better appreciate what they're capable of doing

It does have a solid good reverse delay. Just set the pitch at 0.

The Harpeggiator algorithm should be in a standalone pedal. I would totally pay like $300 for that thing.

Boss PS-2 and PS-3 do pitch shifting and delay. And a sorta chorus-y sound if you set pitch close to unity.
