Classic Player JM vs MIJ JM

I was at GC earlier and played a Squier J Mascis JM and a Classic Player. The Mascis was pretty nice considering the price but the Classic Player had a fatter neck (which was surprising) and over all felt better. Thinner frets.
I had a 96' or so MIJ JM years ago and sold it. The neck was pretty thin, especially so compared to the CP JM I played today. Are MIJ JM necks usually thin? or did they very in thickness? If they're generally thin, I might lean towards getting a Classic Player.
Is there anything the MIJ has on the CP? The stock MIJ pickups were nothing special and I upgraded to Novaks and a Mastery Bridge.

The MIJ stuff is generally a thinner neck profile.
CP will be consistent, and what you get is what you get - if you like it, you'll be happy.
I love mine.
There's a *lot* of MIJ fanboys here though; I've never considered them worth a premium by any stretch.
Perspective, I vastly prefer my much cheaper MII Squier Mustang to the CIJ '69RI I have. The Japanese one looks better, has superior fit and finish, etc...but it doesn't sound as good, doesn't have that special thing that some guitars have.
The Mascis also comes with jumbo frets IIRC, the CP has standardish ones.

Thanks, rfurtkamp.
I've grown fond of thicker necks lately. The Mascis is great for the price, especially when buying used but the neck was a little too thin. I was surprised the CP neck was that thick. I figured from owning that MIJ JM I had, that JM necks were generally thin. I'll have to keep an eye out for a CP.

JM necks are rebadged Strat necks, always have been in profile etc.
Can get a baseball bat from time to time.
The CP stuff seems to be cut on the heftier side -my CP Jaguar has the biggest neck I've ever handled on a Jaguar or Mustang (same thing as above), and I'm actually pretty fond of it.

Weird I thought the J. Mascis neck was one of the thicker necks I've played.

Yea, the Squier one I have is pretty chunky.

Maybe I played an oddball. It wasn't the thinnest neck but the CP was definitely thicker.

I'd classify the CP as slightly bigger (TWSS), but neither is small.
