I had the pleasure of using one of those on a session many years ago, lovely microphone, I'd love to procure one of my own someday.

I've never used one, but I'd like to get one too.

I know they're not prohibitively expensive as far as mics go, but they're still way beyond my microphone budget.

I'll start smaller (pricewise) and hopefully eventually be able to afford one (amongst other amazing mics).

I haven't directly compared an EV N/D468 and an MD-441, but they're supposedly very similar and only $150. Even if they aren't that similar they're still cool mics.

Yeah, even if they're remotely close, $150 is much cheaper. I'll keep that one in mind for my next mic shopping spree.

If this is going to be our generic mic thread, allow me to shameless pimp out the AKG P series. They're the best bang-for-buck mics I've ever tried. When I went to an all tube amp for my bass, I went looking for a good cheap bass mic with a flat response and took a shot on the AKG P2. Every sound guy I've worked with has asked me "What kind of mic is that? It sounds awesome!" I was so happy with it that when I needed a new vocal mic for backups, I went with the AKG P3S and everyone else liked it so much, the drummer bought his own (he does some backups too). I think it sounds a lot better than our lead singer's Shure honestly.

I think I'm going to be buying one of those N/D 468's in the coming month. I am committed to starting to get my music stuffs on more proper demos and I feel a need for my than just my sm57. Seems like a nice compliment.

I saw one of those on eBay last week. Can't for the life of me remember where it was or what it was.
