good guitar for my kid (short scale questions)

So my Daughter who is 6 and very small wants to try to learn guitar, she has a ton of trouble playing anything I own

I was thinking of snagging a short scale guitar of some type

Would a Jaguar be small enough? I was thinking jaguar because if she decides she doesn't want to play I could still enjoy it

any one play the squier vintage modded one?

I have looked at other short scale guitars and most run between 22 and 24 inch scale anyway
so a Jag kinda makes sense???????

Anyone else have a small child that wants to play?

Watching her play my Nelson with 11s was brutal...

I'd go Loog or some affordable little acoustic. Almost toy quality to start with until the two of you can discern if she really wants to play. My 6yo niece wanted to try guitar, so I bought her an inexpensive little child-size acoustic on Amazon. She tried it a little bit, but didn't really gel with it ultimately. I think it was $40 or $50.

I like that Idea, i will poke around
my thinking was that if I get her a jaguar and she hates it I would still have a jaguar!!

Rondo?

Their animal series are 20" scale and cost $50 - if she isn't into it or gives up the instrument, turn it into a lap steel or something. Or they've got more traditional 24" strats and the like for <$100

Didn't think of Rondo, time to shop I guess.

Realistically, I think a 24" scale instrument will be too big for a 6yo. Ukulele might even be a decent place to start.

I almost bought one of these Loog for myself when they had a sale some time ago but international shipping made it not really worthwile. Which might be a good thing because I'm not sure I need new instruments. But this is something I'll almost definitely buy once I have kids that age...

the body size of a jag is bigger/longer than a strat or a tele (even a mustang is 2 inches longer in the back than a strat), so I don't think it would be a good fit. Maybe a 90s squier duo sonic if you found one? Those had the 22.5 scale necks like the 50s ones.

I agree a Jaguar is kind of unwieldy. It's got a big body and sticks out in weird ways. I say this as a person who primarily plays a Jaguar...
A Mustang or, yeah, a Duosonic is much easier to handle. Or maybe a short scale Tele?

If you have a guitar shop around that isn't creepy, it'd probably be worth bringing her in and letting her just mess around with a few different styles to see what she's more comfortable with.

Taking her shopping might be a good next step,
Thanks for all the input

She needs sparring gloves for karate now so Bruce Lee May have won this battle
