Craig Anderton's Ultra Fuzz.

Two spring to mind: a silicon Pep Fuzz (love the gate on these) or a Warm Jet V. Ghost Effects is the place to look for both.

Frazz dazzler.

I tried a couple throughout the years...

My Mastotron (on my board) and Red Witch Fuzz God II (flipped) is/was probably the one(s) I liked the most. Except maybe for my old Big Cheese, though I can't recommend any peddle that costs more than an okay guitar

A lot of Devi stuff might work for you.

A frazz would be a good option. TAFM has 2nd switch that maxes the fuzz and gates it. I also like the bias spit of the scarab deluxe, but I couldn't call it high gain

Mastodon made me remember the Zvex Fuzzolo - that would be another nice, cheap option. Those things really rip.

The Deluxe Big Muff does that.

modded the hell out of mine and it's cool but left wanting something else

right now for gated sounds i'm doing OCD -> brassmaster clone
sometimes i kick on the pharaoh after those to get real gnarly. jazzmaster neck pickup with tone rolled off gets screaming sustained leads and nice crunchy gated chords.

is it gated on it's or just when you slam it with the ocd?

it's gated on its own. the ocd helps open it up and sustain a little more. i'm not sure if my clone is an exact copy or somebody's take on the circuit. it has the standard controls and gets real nasty and splattery. lots of weird sounds to be had.
