Never understood the appeal of GNR. Besides maybe Vince Neil, Axl Rose has the most annoying voice in rock.

I love GnR—really no interest in the reunion though. Well, unless they find a way to put Botoxyl in a time machine and stop him from getting corn rows and eating sticks of butter.

Ugh, yeah Vince Neil. However, no one tops the wretched vocal gnarl of Brian Johnson and that guy from Cinderella.

I fucking love gnr. Axl is also one of my all time favourite vocalists.
Colour me cautiously optimistic for the future.
Then again, I like Chinese democracy quite a lot, and when I saw them on that tour Axl's voice was good. Have seen some clips where his voice is miserably bad though...

Somewhat funny Chinese Democracy related story: Best Buy had a HUGE promotion with that album given how much anticipation there was for it, more than one "special edition", t-shirts etc. Anyways apparently sales weren't that good for the album...
Side note: Best Buy does quarterly briefings for their employees and show a slickly produced corporate video with a puppet (I think) called "Insult the comic dog".
Anyways in the briefing after Chinese Democracy, the puppet dog poked fun at the sales failure of the album...
Personally thought it was "meh" and uninspired.

Yeah I think Appetite is really one of the best rock albums ever, and the Illusions had their moments (though I, like most people, wish they'd kept it less bloated overall). Around then it's the beginning of unchecked megalomania of the worst kind, and subsequent ball o' flames.
I really don't think there was any way Chinese Democracy could be good. Beyond the fact that Axl worked on it for 15 years, to me it just proved he didn't have the songwriting chops of the other guys. Plus... the production. Ugh. It was horribly slick and modern, yet somehow super dated... it sounded like Orgy or something
Anyway, I think their story is still one of the greatest... maybe the reunion will be fun.
PS FWIW Duff's memoir is pretty excellent. It sounds like it's ghostwritten by Keanu at times, but it's nonetheless very enjoyable.

I was just playing harmonics and I stopped playing when I realized it was starting to sound like "Sweet Child O' Mine".
