Other than Rose Picassos and Curtis Novak's Wide Ranges, what else is out there thats worth looking into? I want to use my jazzmaster to play some heavier music, so I want something that takes dirt pedals, has low end clarity and is relatively quiet.

I'd also check in with Roadhouse and see if he could cook you something up...I like the Novak WRHB in JM format. They make teh heavies pretty well, but they are nothing like my other guitars with TV Jones or Dimarzio HB's...\

What about some P90's?

I just ordered this guy's jaguar humbucker. He also does jazz sized humbuckers. Some of his stuff looks pretty sloppy, but it's another option:

This. He makes the best pickups I've ever used.

I have experience with these and they were pretty good

Avoid Novak for heavier stuff. I put a Novak PAF bridge humbucker in my Mascis Jazzmaster without realizing it is NOT wax potted. Sounds great for mildly overdriven classic rock tones but the pickup howls when introduced to any heavier distortion.

Going to replace it with either a Sentell or Creamery WRHB.
