Death From Above 1979 - You're a Woman I'm a Machine

He is Legend - I Am Hollywood (unless you count before schuylar croom joined the band)

The Mars Volta - De-Loused in the Comatorium (potentially unpopular opinion)

The Strokes - Is This It (the next two albums are good, but not as good)

NOW WITH 100% MORE CANADIAN POST-HARDCORE(ISH)

For some reason this popped into my mind... some of the songs and lyrics are pure cheese, but the musicianship is never less than incredible.

This one takes the cake, though: all the members were still teenagers when it was cut. Unfathomable for a band to just walk out onto the scene like this.

Good thread! Personal faves off the top of my head:

Stone Roses
Pink Flag
Orange Rhyming Dictionary
Can't Buy a Thrill (surely the Dan will garner some rage on here, haha)
My Aim Is True
Nowhere
Psychocandy
+1 on Is This It (will also add that I f'n love Room On Fire and am of the unpopular opinion that it's just as good)
Turn On The Bright Lights

Ok gotta stop or I'll be at this for hours...

Billy Talent are the worst fucking band I have ever seen live.
Hands down and without a shadow of a doubt.

Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath

Om - Variations on a Theme

High on Fire - The Art of Self Defense

Windhand - Windhand

Black Tusk - Passage through Purgatory

The Haunted - The Haunted

Devin Townsend - Oceanmachine

Strapping Young Lad - Heavy as a Really Heavy Thing

Down - NOLA

Nothing I say should be surprising anymore.

Edit: I don't know how I forgot Tombs - Winter Hours.

The first Sabbath record was the first thing that popped into my mind. That record is SOOOO fucking heavy, especially for the time it came out.

If we don't count EPs, then Tool's Undertow has to be up there for me. The bass sound on that album is probably my biggest influence musically.

Oh, and Autechre's Incunabula is fucking amazing as well.

Totally agree on Kezia and De-loused.
Personally, I reckon all of the following beat their sequal(s) by miles.

Weezer - Blue Album (one of the most underrated albums of all time imo)
Paramore - All We Know Is Falling
Brontide - Sans Souci
Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory.

Yupp. I dig commercial stuff.
