Scalloping a fretboard - yay or nay?

My friend traded me a Squier 51 for some pedals. I'm thinking about having the neck scalloped, because of the potential for crazy bends, microtones, etc. I have a friend who is a woodworker, who can do it. However, I've personally done some mods to instruments in the past, and screwed them up (sloppy work). That won't be a problem this time, but I'm a little gun-shy about mods in general now. Since my past negative experiences, I've made a point of leaving everything totally stock. I hesitate to modify a perfectly good instrument. It's not a beater, these 51 Squiers have retained their value pretty well (maybe even slightly increased in value?) but I figure that will all go out the window with a scalloped neck.
Your thoughts? WWILFD?

When you'll be playing that fast you won't need microtonal bending and stuff.
Just more of everything really.

I was about to post something Yngwie related.
Yngwie is Yngwie, more or less, less or more.

I love that Vietnamese vong co stuff. So cool. Only do it if you can bear to throw the '51 in the trash if the mod goes south. I'd maybe not scallop the neck on a perfectly good guitar. Tough call. Maybe get a cheap check from elsewhere, scallop that, and save the original '51 neck in case you want to put it back to stock?

If you can do a legit job, scallop it.
That'd be cool. Also, if you really don't plan on selling it, it's just a guitar. Do cool stuff with it.

Best bet.
Still voting for the wildcard anyways.

This is on par with Spinal Tap. Awesome.

You should probably go demo a scalloped neck instrument and decide if that's something you'd even slightly enjoy.

Do you like that 51?
If so, don't wreck it.
Otherwise, #yolo

if the guitar plays well now I probably wouldn't screw with a radical neck mod like that
especially when their are much cheaper guitars you can do this to and worry less about
a scalloped rondo tele seems cool

I know this is lame to reference, but there is some chappers video where him and the captain talk at length about playing a scalloped neck and why Rob liked it and the captain hated it. It's the one about buying a cheap guitar and doing like $300 of mods to it, seeing what they could come up with.
