Recommend me a simple/cheap looper

So I've never had a standalone looper, and some of the fam is asking for christmas gift ideas, so that seems like a reasonable thing to tell them.
All it will be used for is to record a riff and then fuck around and make noise over it. I really don't need anything fancy, and I'm in no danger of starting to play solo looping gigs.
I've done a little bit of internetting and looks like the Jamman Express would fit the bill, but stuff like the Ditto, EHX 360, and Boss RC stuff have my attention as well. Then there is the Headrush, which is cheaper and apparently has a good looper as well - any reason I would go with that instead of a standalone looper? The only thing I know I don't want is a pause between loops, which always fucking happened when I tried to use the looper on the EHX SMMh I had way back when (maybe I just sucked at loopering though...)
Sooooo, yeah, anyone care to weigh in?

I just tried the looper on the nux time core for the first time. It was ok. Darkened the signal a bit, but it is extremely cheap and easy.
I had the headrush for a bit...didn't like it all, but other people do...so I don't know? I remember the looper being fairly easy too.
That's all I gots.

I'll just quote myself from the other thread...
fever606 wrote:Big fan of my Ditto X2... Dead easy to use, sounds great, stereo, and the second footswitch (for half-speed, reverse, or stop) is super useful. Plus, the size is such that I don't feel like it's gonna flip over when I bring my size ten Chuck Taylor down on it...

Another vote for the Ditto x2. Price/size pretty close to the simple/cheap loopers, but you get backwards/half-speed and 2 stomps.

Dittos are cool. Cheap, easy to get used for even cheaper. I had a stereo ditto which had a cool feature where you could upload a sample to it. I've had TC Electronic stuff in the past that had things break on them really fast (switch and power jack) but the ditto seemed fine for the time I had it.

Been thinking of getting a looper too. You guys with Ditto x2, do you actually use the extra fx? Pedalboard's real cramped so I'm thinking I can get away with a normal Ditto if the x2's all fluff.

I've heard too many people complain about their inability to loop properly when the stop function requires 2 hits on the basic ditto.

Ah, didn't think about that. Thanks!

Hmmmm.....looks like I should give the x2 closer look.
Thanks for the offer on the Headrush DoS - I may shoot you a pm if that becomes a prime contender.

Has anyone tried that EHX 360 looper? I hated the switch on my old hall of fame and I'm looking for a cheap simple looper for making fucked up noises too.

The Donner ditto clone is supposed to be decent and is hard to beat price wise for $60 or less.
