I got one of these for 450 used about 5 years ago. Was pretty nice, excellent neck. Humbuckers were kinda bleh but easy to swap. The older Electromatics were much nicer than the newer Electromatics I had recently.

Thanks, repoman, yeah, I'd love an old Gretsch. An Anniversary would be great. Also, sadly way outta my price range.
I'd really love one of these:
Pretty sure they're stupid rare though.

Is that a Welson? It's super cool. Vintage Italian and other European electrics seem to be available in not astronomical prices and some have decent reputations...definitely hard to come by specific models though.
Theres probably Japanese lawsuit era Barney Kessel type guitars on ebay too.
(The Electromatic Gretsches like that one I posted are Korean or Chinese made so they're a lot less money than the Japanese or US ones).

Yeah, it's a Welson.

Yeah, there're lawsuit era Japanese Kessels on Reverb and stuff. Prices on 'em actually aren't too bad either. It's just they're still too high for me.
I've been looking for Japanese guitars because I tend to like 'em a lot. Though, you're right, I should probably look more at European ones. Some of those European guitars are a little too quirky playing even for me. I have a feeling it's gonna be a while before I find something I want. I seem to want something "amazing" at not too much money.
Years ago I passed on a Hondo II copy of a Coral Firefly and I've been kicking myself since. I totally should've bought it. Not sure if it was made in Japan or Korea, but it was pretty sweet. I've never even seen another one.

I'm always scouring for weird cheap guitars. What kinda features are you looking for? Full hollow or is semi ok? Trem? Guitar fetish has a few blem xavieres on clearance right now but they probably suck haha.

I'd prefer fully hollow, but I'd take a semi-hollow too depending on how awesome it is. Looking for something that plays pretty well and has humbuckers. Nothing too fancy. Beyond that I'm not really too sure. Trem isn't a necessity. It'd be a nice bonus though.
Yeah, I don't really have the money to spend right now. I'm sorta just beginning to search. Please, feel free to post stuff that you find in this thread. If the right instrument turns up, I'll find a way to grab it. Thanks.

Well, I like P-90s too. Definitely looking for humbuckers now though. Casino w/ humbuckers'd be nice.
