Help me pick a looper guys. I used to have an M9 and I loved it. Now I'm in a new project where I'm the only guitar player, and so I'm looking for a good live looper that's easy to use and sounds good. I'm debating between the ditto x2 or the headrush. My inclination is towards the ditto, as its got longer recording time, stereo output, and better audio quality. However, in Canada its about 207$+ taxes new, whereas I can get a headrush for about 120$ Canadian + taxes or find a cheap one used on here or TGP. Thoughts?

JamMan Solo XT is my rec. It has stereo inputs as well, so if you have two amps and separate/parallel effects chains you can pan instruments hard left/right. I find that a useful feature.

Oh, just saw the "live looper" requirement.. might not work well for that unless you also get the external footswitch.

There's a lot of rumbling about loopers. So there's a good chance for a new one popping up. Besides, it's always a good idea to wait when there's a large tradeshow incoming. It's not fun to buy something and then have a new product that's ten times better pop up for the same price, you know? Or even, if the product announced is not to your liking, the one you were going to buy will probably be discounted, or the use price will tank at least.

Yeah, thats why I'm hesitant to go the digitech or boss route. I also want to be able to power it using my PP2+. But that feature is cool...

True. Only problem is, I don't necessarily benefit. Canada is either slow to get new products or its still very, very expensive.

I haven't used the Ditto X2, but I just got the Headrush and it's looping method is pretty cool. The way you can have a base loop, then overdub to your hearts content, then immediately delete all of your overdubs and start recording a new layer of overdubs with only one stomp.. it's really fun.

If that's something you think you'd use often, I'd go for the Headrush. The guitarist from Russian Circles does it all the time if you want some examples. If you're doing longer loops and the reverse/half time effects are more your thing, or if you wano to save a loop, Ditto would be a clear winner.

I haven't used the Ditto X2 either.
I like the Headrush.

Go with a Headrush if you only want a simple looper.

I've used both of them. They are pretty similar in how the foot switches are set up (or can be setup on the X2). If you want a dedicated looper I'd go with the X2. If you want to save space by having a delay and looper, go with the headrush.
