Finally got a Boss FZ-2 Hyper Fuzz

Fucking Christ on a cracker, it's my favourite fuzz I've ever owned.
Like it better than my NYC Big Muff, Roger Mayer Octavia, Nine of Swords pedals, etc.
I turned it on and thought, "YES, this is the fat, saturated, stupid sound I was looking for!"
Then, I kid you not, I looked and realized I'd set all the knobs to NOON. Fucking NOON, people.
Gonna have a lotta fun with this
P.S. What are some other fuzzes like this

Spam alert : I have one of these for trade right now
But yeah, I got one too and discovered that I am just a soft, mellow person after all.
Too much gain for me. I'm not metal enough, I guess

The Verellen Big Spider takes it to the next level. I traded mine away on here..

If I understand the question correctly (which fuzzes have absurd amounts of mojo, even when not maxed out)...
Mountainking Megalith (I never even use the "more" switch, it's already plenty 'more enough').
Mid-Fi Fuzz Wall - like two or three stacked fuzz pedals (or something like that). Like it's designed for feedback freakouts, in a compact package.

Try the mode I as well! In my opinion it's even better and it makes my guitar sing like no other fuzz pedal. Very organic - and the EQ is a blessing from above!

As far as I know the FZ-2 is based on a Shin-Ei fuzz pedal (FY-6 Super Fuzz?).

This is exactly how I feel about my FZ-2's, like em so much I use two.
May want to check out the Roland camp if the FZ-2 is floating your boat, the Bee Baa and Double Beat are also very impressive nasty fuzzes I've taken a huge liking to, although I don't own a Double Beat yet.
The Ace Tone fuzzes are precursors to the Roland stuff and EQD makes a nice FM-2 clone in the Fuzz Master General. The FM-3 is rare and essentially just a triangle muff.
The Ibanez Standard/Wau Wau circuits are aggressive as well, but feel the bottom end got to loose for my liking.

I love the fy-6 superfuzz circuit but wasn't all that impressed by the FZ-2.

Unless it's based more on the Ace Tone/Ibanez Fuzz which is ever-so-slighty different sounding. Maybe that would explain it, as I didn't quite like that tone either. I'm going to have to keep an eye out for an FZ-2 and give it another try some time.

The FZ-2 is its own beast really, mode 2 has this evil ring mod thing going on that nothing else really does.
I find that the vintage Roland boxes share alot of similarities with the FZ-2 in that there is gobs of gain, and a big, thick, solid bottom end, that can somewhat stay together for a palm mute. Especially if hit with a drive or boost.
I mainly use my first FZ-2 as a boost, then, sandwich a Bee Baa in between another FZ-2. Using the Bee Baa as my main lead tone, and the 2nd FZ-2 in mode 2 for some stank fuzz action.

I've been hyping the FZ-2 for as long as I can remember, I'm pretty sure there's got to be one or two guys here at ilf who are sick of my whining in every single "which superfuzz" thread.
It gets overlooked or looked down on cause it's Boss and not a fancy boutique variant that tries hard to be an FZ-2.
It's the longest lasting pedal on my board, among the cheapist ones, and it's probably the only dirt pedal I'd consider buying again to have two on one single board. Or to put on a seperate bass board, cause it fucking slays on bass.
Anyway, glad to hear you've seen the light. Or heard it or whatever
It doesn't do the hot rodded superfuzz thing or even the FM2/StandardFuzz, but maybe you'll like the Mastotron. Oozes with low end, and it can do some gnarly fuzz factory stuff, only in a thicker and more useable way.
Another one I highly recommend if you're into insanely gainy agressive whooaaaamphffff style fuzzyness and don't wanna limit yourself to octave up vintage inspired pedals: ODB-3. Ironicly enough, it's as far from a "bass overdrive" as possible. And it's even easier to come by and cheaper than the FZ-2. Rips on both guitar and bass, but again, it's NOT for the faint of heart. Not a musical or subtle pedal, but the blend control and eq makes it very useable for a couple different applications imo.

I recently picked one up for a good price. The Boost is pretty badass. Fuzz Mode I is also really good. Mode II sounds too spiky to me.

So far I do like Mode II the best, but I'm sure that will come and go a million times.
So it's Super Fuzz inspired, eh? The crazy thing is... and this for me is like, a total "one that got away" story... I was just about to buy a 1970s "red and blue" Univox Super Fuzz, as used by Pete Townshend... It was $380 Canadian, or about $280 USD... to put that in perspective, a new BAT Coven is $340 CAD or so. But I dropped my iPhone 5 in the bathtub and alas, had to replace it (I don't have a landline, even) to the tune of $500+, so I didn't pull the trigger, and it sold...
But I was able to afford the FZ-2 and I didn't even knew it was a clone!
Thanks for all recommendations, people! I had been GASing for the Mountain King one... ugh, to be Donald Trump. I'd be so much better at being Donald Trump than Donald Trump is. Seriously. Does he even GAS though
