Aight, I love my Parker lots, but the truth is that nothing sounds better (to my ears) on fuzz than a good set of P90s. Obviously I could get off my ass and fix my Tele, but where's the fun in that? Anyways, what I'm saying is that I want a good pair of humbucker sized P90s that are hum free and sound killer with fuzz. DOES THIS HOLY ITEM EXIST?

...I'm still going to fix my Tele, before anyone freaks out.

No.

No humbucking pickup will ever sound like a single coil no matter what hype the manufacturers and their marketers try to sell you.

Hey, if it's a midpoint between a humbucker and a p90 I'll be as happy.

Agreed. I have a set in my Guild Bluesbird and they are bold as fuck, but not dead quiet. Love them though.

i had one of these for a while & miss it. great pickup.

I'm also looking for some (not too expensive, without covers) HB-sized P90s to put in my SG. Noise levels are not really a big concern for me.

So far the ones I'm leaning towards are Catswhisker Fat Moggy, the price is really good and I've read nice things about them the few places I've been able to find any mention. The website is bad, but... http://www.catswhiskerpickups.co.uk/p90.html

sheptone humbucker sized p-90's would do the trick - i've installed a few sets of those in the past and they are amazingly clear without much of any hum

Does anyone have a better way to get recommendations than just trusting a handful of people on the internet? It seems like one of the most important elements in your sound, and the one with the most guesswork involved. I don't even know what sort of suggestions I'm hoping for, it just seems like the current system is to be interested in some product because of what the manufacturer says about it, then find a few random people who on forums who also like it, then try it out. Seems like there is way less info than guitars, amps, or pedals.

i put Seymour Duncan Phat Cats in an Ibanez jet King not too long ago. for a guitar that had been snapped in half those pickups had a pretty good sound for the price.
