2015 MASONITE TELECASTER

Seriously I need to stop this.
Dude on OSG has been making bodies like old Danelectro guitars. Poplar frame, hollow body, with masonite top. $88 shipped for the body.
Gold anno guard that I've had laying around.
Maple Squier Telecaster neck.
Wilkinson Compensated bridge.
Cheap control plate.
The only thing NOT in the bag is the pickups.
Thinking either a Dimarzio Super T for the bridge or a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder.
For the neck either a Super S or something stupid like a Brent Hinds Hammerclaw.

Part of me wants to leave the body in the raw ugly brown. Part of me wants to look into a sweet paint job like shell pink or Dano black sparkle. Part of me doesn't even want to bother.

Ended up going with a set of pickups wound by this guy, turns out he lives about a half hour from me. AlNiCo 5 Magnets, white tops, grey bottoms. 16k bridge and 11k neck. YES.

I remember somebody used to have a cheap ad in the back of Guitar Player in the early 90s (fuck, I'm old) selling the same sort of thing, Dan-o style Tele bodies, also pretty cheap. He said his top had a whiteboard-type finish, too--made it a selling point. I've been wondering why I haven't seen anybody else do the same thing since.

Thinking that I might make this my shell pink guitar. Would be cool to spray it pink and sand it back to the brown with the gold guard.
Ordered the last of the parts tonight.

Shell pink must have an undercoat of surf green.
It is THE LAW.
Gold pickguard still stands.
