Question about selling a guitar....

So I have a hollow-body guitar I want to sell, to acquire some bass equipment. Recently, when I picked it up to check it out before trying to sell, I noticed that the pickups would cut out sometimes, and it seemed to be related to the pickup selector. I ended up taking it out of the body without un-soldering anything, just to check that it wasn't the selector, which is relatively easy to get to. Most everything else in the body I'd need dental tools or something to work on, and fuck that. Selector was fine, no loose connections. I get the selector back in, string just one string so I can test the guitar, and now its fine...... I string the whole thing up, play it a little, mess with the PU selector, jiggle it, wiggle it, shake it, etc..... no problems.

Should I still try to sell this thing? :idk:

I don't really know about these things, but my pickup selector behaved similarly at one point. I just blew on it, and it was back to normal. So, might be dust or something? Or maybe I give magical blowjobs.

I think you can sell it. If you want, just describe what you did in the listing. It's probably fine now but if you want to sell with a 100% clear conscious you can mention the pickup selector could be on its way out but seems fine after jiggling it around.

Dirty switch. Taking it out probably dislodged some dirt preventing the contacts from touching. I always squeeze the contacts together on L-type pickup selector switches to re-tension them so the switch wont't slip and I spray 'em out with DeoxIT contact cleaner to purge all the dirt, dried sweat and grime that switches collect.

Thanks dudes. :thumb: I'll probably mess with it just a bit more before selling, but I'll most likely just mention it in the ad when I put it up.
