As for traveling the world, most of South America, Europe and Asia is fine.
You might want to avoid the middle east and parts of Africa though.

Surgery has come a long way since Christine Jorgensen.
There are some great surgeons doing fantastic work.
It is true that there are still butchers out there, but thanks to the Internet, most have been exposed and are now easily avoided.

Devi just out of interest I remember a while back on the front page you mentioned your costs coming to a total of $40,000. This comes off as an awful lot for me. Would you not consider going over to Thailand where the total will probably be less or not much more than $10,000? I know you probably prefer to recover in your own country, do "local business" etc. but they have excellent surgeons over there who deserve business too since they are very skilled and hard workers. You're getting way more for that money. Think of what you could do with that $30,000. You buy 15 Korg OASYSes, or build a small shed out of BOSS pedals.

Too, I think it does trans people and society in general a great disservice to hide my past. True that being open will most likely keep me from visiting certain parts of the world being out, but then again there's places men, women, and people from opposing cultures wouldn't go either.

I think it depends. Personally, I don't think it's "necessary" information, nobody NEEDS to know you're trans. Honestly I don't tell people as much as I used to, when I'm fully post OP if i pass well enough I might not bother except when I'm fighting teh p0wer going along to protests, etc. though then I might just claim to be a lesbian.

At the same time, I want to punch a lot of trans "community" people who come out with shit like "Oh but all women have different needs, and "transwomen" are just another kind" an don't want us to use the word "Trans" anything. You do have to recognise that you're trans, at least up until post surgery etc. and your HRT dosages go down. I hate people who think the way forward is simply to discard information, a lot of people's approach to "racism" is the same. This isn't the way forward. I'm not going to pretend I was never born into being "male". There's a lot of ridiculous new age fluff associated with transgenderism. I always hate the "Oh well Sam is dead, but Samantha is my new daughter" approach the few tolerant parents seem to have, that's ridiculous. Nobody's died or even completely reinvented themselves, they're just being more honest with who they are and going along that path to avoid being completely miserable.

That's why I've only told one person in my real every day life that I'm tranny. I don't feel like fighting with family and making myself even MORE of the black sheep. Also..I don't have that type of money! I don't want to be a boy outwardly THAT badly D; Plus, body hair, ew gros D;< But thumbs-up for actually going through with all of it.
