They were chief among a handful of artists who revitalized the Sub Pop label in the early 2000s

They defined indie rock for quite a few people

I get dem feels when I listen to them

[not going to give in ]they sound like every fucking band that sounds like them the fucking the end plays all fucking day. and sub pop… they just took advantage of something that happened naturally and hyped it, once that bubble popped into the main stream their usefulness was over.

Shins dude totally sucks. For the last album he fired the whole band because he wanted to take it a different direction, which ended up just being more boring than before. I actually really used to dig garden state era shins. I read some interview of him in like Rolling Stones or something stupid like that and everything he said was terrible.

I'll agree that they kind of sucked post-Chutes Too Narrow through to today

But that was in praise of the band and they had a few great albums and songs
