Is There No Better Than the B3K??

Scouring the internets and forums for a bass OD, none seems as highly regarded as the Darkglass. It seems to cop great toanz but...is there no alternative that gets even close to this? And don't say the BDDI...i want something boutique and respectable, dammit. I do NOT want ubiquity.

The one I use most is a Fairfield Barbershop but it sounds nothing like a B3K.

Amptweaker pedals, Okko Bastard, The Elements and probably 20 other pedals I've tried sound better than the B3K. It's not that good. Now the B7K is amazing. That extra control makes it great. I'd say there's quite a few things that could rival it though.
Fuck a P Bass.

I like the Fuzzrocious Dark Driving a whole lot. Enjoyed the Solid Gold fx Beta, as well.

I prefer the Vintage Microtubes unless I'm playing metalz. I like the B7K better than the b3K, I agree that the EQ make it way easier to dial in.

Ok here's a list of what I've tried recently. Each one was better than the B3K. Now I absolutely LOVE Douglas with a passion. He's my homie. So I still think the B3K is fucking awesome but these pedals just had something it didn't. Like I said the B7K is a lot better, same applies with the Vintage Deluxe. That thing is fucking amazing. But seriously. Fuck a P bass. lol
Brimestone XD 2-not an actual overdrive but can be an overdrive and many other things. Dual band crossover distortion. This thing is FUCKING AMAZING.
Okko Basstard-pure sounding grit. super lows and sparkly highs. Absolutely one of my top of all time.
VFE RUP (not in your price range I'm sure currently but sometimes you can get them for stupid cheap)-this thing beats everything on the market that I've tried. It's a multiband distortion, overdrive, compressor, fx loop and so much more. It can do subtle OD with thick rich lows, or it can be a treble happy grind machine. I absolutely love mine. That's why I had two! LOL! I traded one, kept the other.
Amptweaker Tightdrive Pro-made for guitar but awesome with bass! Keeps lows intact when you adjust the settings, punchy as shit, grinds like fucking mad or just acts as a simple od/boost. LOVE this shit.
Timmy-no joke. The fucking Timmy is absolutely killer. I rehoused one and could not believe how fucking good it was.
Myco pedals-I'm not a huge fan of their stuff because it's kind of weird to me, but it sounds really, really good. IMO you cannot get a better tube based pedal right now.
Boss DS-1-it's hilarious but this fucking thing sound goddamn massive with my bass. It can be such a good OD it's not funny. It can be a distortion too, but with the right adjustments, it kills as an overdrive. Can't beat the price either.
And that's about it dude. I've tried probably 50-60 overdrive pedals this year and most of them were Meh. I play active bass and a lot things just can't hang with that.
For reference I also play a Mesa Bass Prodigy with Mesa cabs. So tubes bro.
If I think of anything else I'll add it.

B3K is good, you can always get a 10 band EQ pedal.
B7K is the ultimate.
These pedals do have that upper mid bump naturally that sounds weird/different when playing unaccompanied but in a mix these absolutely slay. I used mine with 2 guitarist and a decently loud drummer and the bass cuts through like butter and sits just right in the mix.

Every time I hear Darkglass pedals, they sound sort of disappointing to me

haven't heard one in person (my mate has a Duality which I definitely want to try some day), but from the demos it all just seems too... modern and flat? I don'T know
and the Vintage model sounded like it doesn't really do anything last time I saw a demo

The Darkglass pedals never yanked my crank. I love the Elements, and really dug the Mini when I played it.
