Yeah I have either this or a Memory Toy on my board depending on what I'm in the mood for. Love this pedal.

ive always liked it. the size has always been kind of a thing, but its got all the features i find useful on a delay. plus it sounds really great.

Yeah for something that sounds 95% of what people expect a Space Echo to sound like they do seem a little underrepresented in the wild.

Recently I like to use three head mode with a single repeat and and a fairly long delay time.
I also like using turning up the input gain on reverb only mode and blasting sound through a giant garbage can.

Tried one in a store for almost an hour. It's a seriously great delay, no idea why more people don't have them.

i suppose it makes sense, it's a little expensive new for a delay that does one thing super well. the features are pretty fantastic though, my favorite being the high/low eq for the repeats. i'm also a big fan of the oscillation blast off thing when you hold down the tap switch. i feel like its pretty versatile for something thats meant to replicate the sound of a space echo.
my favorite setting is probably mode 3 with the bass up and treble down. i cant really remember because i havent played it in forever. just came in the mail yesterday to my office and today is my monday. i get to mess around with it when i get home tonight.

It's a fine piece. I have a real one still, and I *still* want one to have a second so I can do some stupid additional revocable mods to my tape one so it's just a wild and crazy nutball machine.
Bass up full is what I used on real 201s and 301s, and usually kept the verb down at 0.
My 150 I don't miss it but I'm not using it like an actual delay the vast majority of the time, it's a semi-sound on sound crackle monster.

Got one a few weeks ago and it sounded pretty good, one of the best Boss delays I have tried. Reverb is junk indeed.
Sold it a few days ago to buy gf's present... I know.
BTW, I remember seeing this tumblr with indie band's gear and the pedal that was like in 8 out of 10 boards is a RE20.

Reverb on the real ones is junky, but sometimes it's part of the charm. I don't need it in my current rig (one of the reasons the 150 was fine, along with it sharing something much closer to the 301's preamp than the 201's, I like the hi-fi later Space Echo preamp a little better if I get to pick).
But for what it is it's still a deal.
It plus a Time Bender and I could probably be happy in DelayLand.

Haven't played an RE-201 to compare but my RE-501 reverb is ok. The tank was replaced prior to my possession though, using a new Mod tank now. Hmm.

Guitarist in my band Weary Heads uses one through a twin. Sounds like an ocean of glass in deep space.

501's circuit is *much* cleaner than the 201 or the 301. It's almost acceptable for the time!
I never much loved the 501s and used to gut them for compatible parts (motor control, heads) when they were < $100 @ and Roland was sold out of parts.
