Just found out about this new album coming out Thursday from Karl Blau. He's been playing bass in Earth for their last couple albums and hasn't released a solo album in awhile. My understanding is that this is a covers album of Classic Soul and Country songs.

I really really like Karl Blau, his solo lo-fi recordings are just great. Plus he's worked with Laura Veirs who is a great songwriter, he's worked with Phil Elvrum of the microphones and mt. errie....both bands I HIGHLY recommend, check out "the glow pt.2" album album is a masterpiece.

Also worth checking out D+. its Karl, Phil and Bret Lunsford of Beat Happening fame. Great lo-fi pop gems like this one

Yep, massive Microphones fan, love The Glow Pt2, but Mount Eerie (the album) is one of my favourites of all time. So so good. Aw man, now I need to listen to it.
