been seeing a lot of boards with the mini recently and hear nothing but good things. I use a fuck stacked with a barbershop but I think I can get what I need from just the mini which would make room for a Gravitas or Warped Vinyl (still deciding on that one).

I swear there was a fuck vs mini thread on here a while back but I'll be damned if I can find it. Seems the mini has more gain, whereas the fuck has less gain but does the whole crackle thing which really I don't use. This all might just be splitting hairs at this point. Just wondering if it's worth my time exploring the mini option when i already have a fuck.

Anyway, I'm sure lots of people here have experience with both so thought I'd see what ILFers have to say. I think a Mini with a TAFM could be what I've been after. Got a Suneater for fuzz but I think I'm going to flip, not really working for me, find it too muddy and just not my thing.

If you don't use the crackle then there's no reason why you should stick to the Fuck over the Mini.

I use Mini + TAFM AND a warped vinyl.

I have a Fuck Mountain (Mini + Mountain Range) and I still want a Fuck again. it's rad as hell. the crackle opens up a lot of options

Had the Mini, didn't love it. Got a Fuck, and it's pretty much always on. Go figure.

I love that envolope filter/crackle though.

I liked the Fuck more than the Mini. Something about it just was easier to dial in. But the Mini is fantastic too. Get both, flip the loser.

I agree with UC. Love the crackle. For me the trick is to set it lower than you expect in a setting with other people. First few times I used it like I do at home the jam would come to a halt because people thought I was cooking the amp.

ha I have to remember when using the fuck/megalith that your amp is supposed sound like it's dying can't tell you how many times I've stopped a session to check my amp cause of that damn megalith

I always tell the soundguy as well - "dude, if it sounds like my amp is crackling and shit, then everything is good. DON'T MUTE MY AMP BECAUSE IT IS DYING. cos it isn't. It's being rad".

In addition to the low gain, low threshold, crackle fun, cranking the crackle and the gain makes for insane fuzz.

Fuck overdrive...seriously, what a terrible sound compared to fuzz. But if you have to have overdrive get the fuck od for the crackle, that's the only viable reason to own an overdrive pedal.

Well oddly enough this has all made me want to get a TAFM and flip my Suneater. I think TAFM + Barbershop + Fuck going into my new Verellen amp will have me covered. Then once I get the new CT5 in my board will be complete!

disagree completely, they sound very different while neglecting the crackle altogether.

also OP I like the Fuck a lot more than the Mini, the Fuck is more "open" sounding to me, and I think the low gain tones on it sound better.
