Modular music

I keep hearing shit about "modular music" that its formless and way too long, like it was some sort of genre, but I've yet to find a single "modular" artists. I like formless and long music, so I would love to get me on that action. Enlighten this poor fool, please.

Wouldn't Tangerine Dream sorta fit this description? Phaedra and Rubycon are great albums.

Brian Eno. His songs have no beginning nor do they have an end. What you hear on his albums is a random slice of that endless song. Due to time limitations of the recorded format, the entire song obviously cannot be included.
