Anyone try to turn one of these into an effects pedal?

I've got one and always thought that would be a cool idea. Never tried it, though - got no skills in the soldering department.

Bought one of these recently and love it! Does things i've been searching for in a pedal (unsuccessfully) for years, and they're dirty cheap which does tempt me into trying to house it in a sturdy enclosure. The plastic ball thingy is apparently very difficult to get into though and surprisingly complicated inside so you'd probably have to keep that as is. Wouldn't mind fitting some decent jacks on it though, the quality of the sound that comes out is pretty shoddy even when you go through the line out, i'm not sure if that would improve it in any way. I suppose it's a combination of many crappy components inside. Would love to see a converted one though. Lets face it, at 30 quid a pop you can afford to balls a few up

I've been meaning to do it, but I'm horrible at following through on projects.

The ball is what makes it perfect for a pedal. I'm not sure how sturdy it would be with your foot, but it's a nice alternative to a joystick because you can activate it by pressing down on it.

The sound quality is pretty bad, and I bought an opamp or something thinking I might try to improve it... but at the same time it has a nice novelty as a lo-fi effect.

I have one, insane stutter effects! I disconnected the ball and wired up 2 pots instead, added guitar jacks and a remote footswitch. Works great! Now looking for a nice metal enclosure to rehouse it all.

To kill the hi freq lofi artifacts a bit, I often ran it into my Small Clone on vibrato mode

Cool! Would love to see/hear any pics/clips/schems you'd be willing to share!

Yeah, I would really like both pics and clips of that!

Superb job! I might have to give this a go with mine. The pitch shift stutter setting would sound pretty far out on vocals

I have one of these stashed away. For some reason I couldn't get it to turn on when I got it and then I forgot about it. Mayyyybe I should dig it up.
