Some dude near me has one on craigslist for $875 and I thought it had to be a typo but looking up online, Reverb and such, people are asking crazy amounts of money for them cause they're no longer made.

A couple went from $600-870 on ebay.

I think this have 4 mn3005, cause they can do more than 1s delay, the one they do now only does like 500ms. And they were almost 500 euros when they were sold. I wouldn't buy one, but I just don't think 600$ for one is ridiculous.

And those people are probably using it for 50ms slapback or 300ms U2.

I still want one

it doesn't really seem any more ridiculous than the moog delay?

Yeah, but all the units (classic, wall-wart, DMMTT of various maximum delay times, DMMXO, DMM-anything, DMB) are WIDELY FUCKING VARIABLE in terms of quality, IMHO; you takes your chances. I've owned probably 7(?) DMM-related devices across the spectrum, and the wall-wart with Howard Davis mods I own now is the one that sounds most similar to the Space Echo I used to have. That's what I wanted.
I was not into the DMMTT I had, and I wasn't into the ones I didn't own but heard in person. YMMV.

True, but I feel like the DMMTT1100 has some remarkably similar features to Moog's delay. I don't think having them in the same price range should be surprising.
When these were "in production" they weren't really any cheaper. Nearly no dealers could get one of these, supposedly because it was so hard for EHX to find those mn3005s. So, used prices on these have remained fairly constant since they went "out of production."

The asking price isn't crazy because people are paying it. They sell on Ebay for $800 to over a $1000 all the time now. Recently MM put out 100 new units from a batch of 3005 they had and said it was the last time they will make them unless they can source more 3005 chips. When those 100 went out, even dealers were asking this price and getting it. Then people caught on and some dealers went down to $500-$600. I managed to get one for about $500. I love it and fine with it at that price but don't think it's worth paying close to a grand.
However, i just got the Bellwether in today and i'm going to do comparison clips between the two tonight and if the Bellwether comes close i'm going to keep that one because it has an almost identical feature set which the options are what i really love about the MM TT1100 and the sound of course. The Bellwether is $350 so if i decide to sell the MM TT1100 i'll make enough to cover the cost of the Bellwether basically getting a free pedal.
