I have four sources I would like to go to one amp and have volume knobs for all four sources and be able to play them all at once. And I really wouldn't like to pay 400$ for the Lahae box. Preferably a pedal, but I'm willing to deal with a small mixer. Any suggestions?

There are about a thousand... Alesis, Behringer, Mackie, Peavey, Yamaha, Rolls, and even Radio Shack make 'em... Not sure why you would need a pedal or even how that would work... Just get whatever is cheapest... Peavey ones look cool and they're KVLT...

I saw a pedal mixer that was like 140$ New last year, just forget the brand, was hoping maybe some comments could help me rediscover it haha

There are old passive DOD mixers that are pedal sized and the Rolls are small but synth or not I'm not sure what you'd be doing with your feet on a mixer... Get a 6 channel because as soon as you load all 4 inputs you're sure as shit going to find something else you want to plug in... The small format mixers have EQ and Headphones and Aux Outs and Mic/XLR inputs and other stuff that you will find useful with Synths...

I think I might just go this route. That peavey mixer looks like it would satisfy all my needs

Yeah, I've been through a ton of mixers and for your setup I'd start cheap until you figure out how you'll be using it... I promise with synths and stuff you'll start running out of inputs real fast cause you'll want to add this to that and that to this and oh then a mic and maybe a sampler and then your looking at 16/24 channels in no time...

those peavey PV mixers are nice.

audible disease puchi mixer is a 4 to 1 pedal sized mixer pedal.

boss ls2 can be used as a 2 channel mixer too

I've got a Mackie 402VLZ3 and like it. The VLZ4 is the newer model. MIght suit yo' needs. Looks a little smaller and not quite as full featured as the Peavey though.



Also, I'd maybe recommend getting a mixer with mo' channels than you think you need. I kinda wish I'd just gotten an 8 channel mixer.

Mackie 12-channels can be had for around 100 too. Glad I picked mine up. But, yea, it is too easy to run out of channels.

http://sound.westhost.com/articles/audio-mixing.htm is a good article about the differences between passive and active mixing. Everytime a channel is added to a passive mixer, the volume is reduced. I would stick with powered mixers...

If you are at all into DIY building the Craig Anderton "Electronics Projects for Musicians" book has a great active mixer which can be made with up to 8 channel inputs with a volume for each. I have built a four input version and it is very transparent and doesn't include any unnecessary features the big manufacturers add on to seemingly gain advantage over their competitors. It is rather inexpensive to build as well, probably less that $30 for the parts including a prefab enclosure.
