Hey, sorry stupid question, what kind of cables would I use for the mod matrix on the microbrute and what brand has solid cheap ones? I just need a few.

Erthenvar cables are very nice.

If you want to plug one output into several inputs, you'll need some sort of multiple (like the Intellijel Hub -
http://www.intellijel.com/intellijel-hu ... quad-mult/) or a few Tiptop stackcables (
http://www.analoguehaven.com/tiptopaudio/stackcable/).
Warning : the stackcables are expensive but they're super useful. I've got about 20 for my modular... For a microbrute the short green ones are probably enough.

I have 2 dual patch cables that came with the microbrute se, I don't think I'll need more than that. I'm not sure though, I'll think about it.

Quick question- What happens if yo use stereo jacks?
Just extra noise of something worse?

Typically, only the left part is used.

Would you be able to tell the difference if you used mono rather than stereo? Is the only reason to use mono that it's cheaper and since you only need mono you might as well get mono cables?

In the Monotron instruction book, there's a sentence about only using a mono jack for the input. But I can't figure out why this is.
My assumption is the 2nd ring on the stereo jack doesn't touch anything and therefore is dead, (but it might contribute to extra noise...maybe?)
Or is it because it's sending non-audio noises from a balanced input jack that it requires a mono cable?

a lot of times, the ring connector on the stereo jack is used in a mono configuration to control when the jack has a cable plugged into it.
