Warped Vinyl - I need a lesson

OK, I'm having trouble wrapping my head around the sweep dipswitch and the rise/fall switches.

So if I have, let's say rate, set to rise with the bounce on, but the sweep dipswitch is set to bottom, is the rate dropping? I'm so confused.

The first thing to know is that rise/fall is describing the parameters, NOT the sweep.
The sweep is its own thang.

Also, this will all sound like gibberish if you don't have the unit running in front of you.

Wherever the sweep dipswitch is set applies to all the parameters.
Think of the knob-line as dividing the range.
Bottom sweep means your ramp-range is everything left of the knob, and top sweep is everything right of the knob.

Rise / fall doesn't matter when you are in bounce mode, because it's doing both -- rising and falling continuously.

But when bounce mode is off, it sets how the unit ramps within the range set by the sweep.
Basically, it sets whether the unit ramps from your knob-line, or from the minimum/maximum point (maximum applies to top sweep, minimum for bottom).
Minimum = all the way counter, maximum = all the way clockwise.

Here's something to try that will help that sink home:
(Use the rate to test, because it's the easiest to monitor I find)
(Turn off bounce mode)

- Try setting the sweep to top, putting the rate knob fully clockwise, and setting the rate to fall. You will notice that it never falls. This is because the sweep is set to top, so you are dealing with everything to the right of the knob-line. It is already set to maximum, so there is no other point to fall to. If you turn the unit off, and turn the rate knob counter-clockwise, now the rate will fall to that point. The same thing will happen if you have bottom sweep on, and set the rate to rise while the rate knob is all the way counter-clockwise.

Gawd that was hard to explain.

You with me?

Does anyone have a brief moment of silence when they engage the pedal? I really notice it when I have the WV after a reverb. I can work around it, but is it normal?

I don't on mine. You wouldn't happen to be ramping up the volume when you engage it? That could cause it.

It'll be a muting circuit to stop pops on the relay.

If I recall correctly, ramping doesn't start until you play a note. So if you engage the pedal while ramping and are not playing, you may notice a beat of silence.

I'm not ramping the volume.

I only notice if I engage the pedal in the middle of a riff or something. I haven't checked to see if it does it on the momentary mode. I hope not, that would be annoying.
