Halfway mark on the calendar means we're good to go. As always, there are a bunch of albums that I haven't listened to yet, so this is definitely trawling for the general consensus on what's worth listening to this year.
So far, for me:

Leviathan's Scar Sighted
https://profoundlorerecords.bandcamp.co ... ar-sighted

Weedpecker's II
https://weedpecker.bandcamp.com/album/ii

Acid King's Middle of Nowhere, Center of Everywhere
https://acidking.bandcamp.com/releases

Elder's Lore:
http://beholdtheelder.bandcamp.com/

Bong's We Are, We Were, And We Will Have Been:
https://ritualproductions.bandcamp.com/ ... ave-been-2

The half of the new High on Fire record I've heard certainly qualifies, as well.

But what am I missing, breaux? This is all pretty narrowly focused, and I'm sure there are other records that I should check out (even if you think they're good and secretly they are not).

That Metz record is pretty FIYAH FIYAH FIYAH.

Also I totally spaced on Cherubs because I suck. Unlike their new record, which is phenomenal:

In fact, if you liked that Metz album, you will definitely like this one.

New sannhet, new prurient, new locrian, the couch slut debut was HOT FIRE, new cloud rat, new failures, new botanist ep, new ghost bath (FUCK YOU DOS ITS GOOD), new mastery, uuuuuuh I honestly didn't think the new torche was good...which to be honest i really don't think torche is that good anymore at all. They have two songs per cd at best. New the armed is pretty siq. The two burzum singles this year were hot fire. New gnaw their tongues...new vietah, NEW ARSTIDIR LIFSINS

Gawd yes.

Thanks for reminding me that I have to check the new Acid King, too.

I've already posted elsewhere, but the new Weaks is the finest power pop I've heard in quite a while:

While I didn't wake up today thinking "you know, I wonder what it would sound like if Chimaira covered the Tron soundtrack" now I know.

I dug.

Shit gets me pumped. It's the kind of music that makes me look down and realize I'm going 15 over the speed limit.

10/10 INSTANT CLASSICS, REMEMBERED DECADES FROM NOW

Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp A Butterfly
Sufjan Stevens - Carrie & Lowell

ALSO PRETTY DECENT... MAYBE STAYING POWER, MAYBE NOT, WHO KNOWS

Death Grips - Jenny Death
Björk - Vulnicura
Earl Sweatshirt - I Don't Like Shit, I Don't Go Outside

SO BAD, IT MAKES ME WANT TO VOMIT UP EVERYTHING IN MY STOMACH AND THEN JUST KEEP DRY-HEAVING IN FETAL POSITION FOR HOURS UNTIL MY THROAT BLEEDS

Mumford & Sons - Wilder Mind
Refused - Freedom

HAVEN'T LISTENED TO THESE ALBUMS BY ARTISTS I LIKE YET BUT IN THEORY WOULD LIKE THEM

Dan Mangan - Club Meds
Punch Brothers - The Phosphorescent Blues
Waxahatchee - Ivy Tripp
