Remove 9v from wiring diagram?

Hey guys, first time posting in the DIY board.

I'm gonna try my hand at putting together a kit. Its my first time! I have a little experience with a soldering iron from wiring pickups and junk a few years back and am Effin' Awesome at following directions, so I should be fine.

BUT I got a question because I'm too inexperienced to know better and because my Googlefu isn't coming up with any useable results.

In a kit like General Guitar Gadget's MXR Dist+ (an "easy build") http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/pdf ... lus_lo.pdf

would it be possible to not have a 9v battery clip? I don't use batteries and it kinda bothers me that there's going to be a clip dangling around in the box like its some kind of Devi Ever pedal, but I don't trust myself to just do whatever it was I was going to do without insight from more experienced folk.

Thanks for the help!

Don't use the stereo jack at the input (well, you could, but it wont matter...it's just acting like a switch on the -9v supply so the battery turns off when you unplug) and don't wire the battery at the dc jack should work. Just don't wire it in. As long as 9v is going to the board from the dc jack with the right polarity, you shouldn't have a problem.
