Boss FZ-3 mods?

The FZ-3 isn't at all a bad pedal imo. Any ways to make it a bit more exciting though? I'm not after a particular tone or anything, but a little extra gain/grit/oomp would be nice. Right now it's worth more to me than what it'd fetch me if I'd flip it, but at the same time it doesn't get a helluva lot of use cause I have other fuzzes that can do big gnarly leads a lot better....
