I'm assuming most of you are guitarists and/or bass guitarists; who did you see (in person) that made you go like, "OH NO!" playing one or both of those things?

For a long time, Elliott Sharp held the mantle for me. I saw him when I was pretty young, and he destroyed (a continuous 40 minute-ish acoustic performance). This is him doing something a lot sillier:

But then I saw Fred Frith on a good night a few months ago and all bets were off.

What say you?

I think the most impressive (like full stop I fucking quit forever) thing I've ever seen in person was Bozzio and Wackerman as a pair. That included the black page, but wasn't limited to it.

Probably worth noting that I don't play drums at all, but I don't find similar feats of athleticism to be quite as exciting on guitar or bass or any other instrument worth naming.

Graham Clise from Lecherous Gaze /Annihilation Time. Couldn't find a video of him really shredding but yeah. Mind blowing guitarist.

Over a decade later and I'm still trying to figure out what the fuck this guy does.
