Feedback with my XV820 on the bridge pickup

My Xaviere tele feeds back very strongly on the bridge pickup. Thing is, the only time it does this is when I'm running a dirt box into an overdrien amp model on my AD30VT. This is kind of nonsensical, given it's a modeling amp it should produce feedback, there are no components that can "leak" a signal to start the feedback. Someone said the AD30s have a lot of analogue components though.
I'm thinking it's likely that when I had a new pickup swapped in it wasn't soldered quite right. I should bring it down to my guitar tech maybe but it's a crappy journey out there. Or maybe this is often a problem with Teles into dirty amps?
