Okay so according to the Matamp Facebook, in September they "found" some Green Tolex (always been confused as to why they don't just buy it from Joel at EA? Foolish pride?) and is making Green Matamps ala Sleep again. Not only this, but they're bringing back the GT120. They're also introducing a new stoner/doom monster called the GT150,

"Testing the GT150 our new high power guitar head. Except we need a new name. Pushing 175w with 6550s or close to 200w with Gold Lion KT88s. Well over 300w distorted!"

Sorry if this is old news for anyone, but I did a search, and no one had made a thread. In less exciting news, they're switching the Mini-Mat over to PCB, no more PTP Mini-Mats.

I guess they must have realized that Joel's claims of copyright on the Green logo are complete and utter bullshit, that you can literally search a database of trademarks and it doesn't come up. What a joke...

I think those prices are pretty fair when you consider what a boogie or an engl goes for.

I had always thought matamps were unobtainably expensive for me. I was wrong apparently, time to think about saving for one maybe...

Well, the GT120 was £1249 without any extras. I'd assume it was about the same, considering most of their line is around that mark, but nothing official has been stated I don't think.

The funny thing is that everybody thinks Matamp is going to be br00tally expensive because they're the original PTP British amp, but in truth, an "Assembled in China" Orange Rockerverb and a PPC412 cab would set you back as much (more, if you don't bother to haggle or shop around).

And there are some Orange CS amp heads that are more expensive than some Matamp heads WITH a cab.

Electric Amp, too, is crazy expensive. Not satisfied with the fact that some of their heads already cost $3K, they are preparing to raise their prices. This from Joel in an email to me...

We are actually getting ready to raise our price list. We have not had a rate increase since 2009.

Not to make Joel out to be some kind of crazy person, as people do, he makes beautiful amps. But there it is.

So if you want a new amp from that family of amps, Matamp is the most affordable option! #FunFacts

EDIT: Although I have recently drooled over Orange and will probably end buying one TBH
