I like jwar's Raster demo.

They are very different pedals. Depends on what you're going to use it for, and what other pedals you have. The Particle compresses the signal quite a bit, so if you plan on hitting it with lots of fuzz you're gonna have a bad time. I don't mind it, as I use it mostly for ambient soundscaping and drones.

I'm not too crazy about the Particle, it's got some cool sounds but to my ear most settings are like a ringmod delay that just doesn't sound right, also the pitch shifting modes sound really off in my opinion and judging from the video's the Raster has the same problem.
I'd say get a Count To Five, it's not that different from the Particle or Raster, the pitch shifting on it sounds better and altogether I find it to be a more inspiring effect with more musical possibilities.

I don't get the Particle. It is way way way too quiet. If it had a boost knob that I could crank to 10 than I would try using it again, otherwise it's just impossible to hear anything from it (on bass).

What they said.
Don't have a Raster, not sure it's relevant to my interests--agree it seems
veerrry different than the Particle. But all the sainted Popes and all their dancing children, the Particle is still mind-bogglingly splendiferous to me even years later. It basically rebooted my conciousness of what to do with a delayed signal.
But that's me - as awesome as Particle are, me still want Judder and Count to 5 and Revolver and Possessed - it created a whole new category of GAS for me rather than killing GAS, and now I am just a hopeless glich whore. It's like now were 80s and glitch were chorus, except glitch-hop, glitchcore, and glitchstep are all dead and gone and I'm standing all alone playing the behind-the-times fool holding the Luddocaster; I'm helpless to stop it, though: just a pawn in the glitch-toan-meme.
Still beats playing the blooz lawyer
Ah. Sorry. You still there?

this is going to require more research. jwars video of the raster is pretty damn slick though!

Just took a look at that finish.
Mine is a gun-metal grey scrape-through pre-mass-production/v. 1/idk-I-just-liked-the-intro-price-and-jumped-awn-it jobby.
Hmmm. I wonder if mine sounds different than the production units? I don't recognize some of the sonic complaints I've read about in mine.
Must be protype toan mojo.
I know I'm missing a coupla features, though....

The picture of the Ghost Particle on Red Panda's site is a little misleading. It not as dark or textured in real life.
Couldn't find a picture of it without mad filters, but here's a clip of it next to the CT5:

On it's own, the Particle is not really that great, but pairing it with the right pedal is magic. Also, drum machine into it ->
Edit: Actually, here's some more clips I made of the Particle, if you're on the fence. Nothing fancy or well played, but it might give you an idea

what do you guys think of particle vs ct5.; do they cover too much of the same ground? especially if I have a ring-mod in my setup already?
