Adding a Speaker out to a 1957 Supro 1606

Title speaks for itself...
Could anyone help me figure out how to add an output jack to my Supro 1606 so I can run it through a 4x12? The circuit sounds amazeballs but the 6x9" (yes, 6x9") speaker is unique, but boxy.
As I understand it can be done so you plug the cab in and the original speaker shuts off, or you plug the cab in and the original speaker stays on. But one is simpler? I've built an amp before, so have soldering skills, just not circuit knowledge skills.
