Hey Bass dudes: check the Jupiter FX Integrail!

Have you heard of Jupiter Effects?

Probably not, back when Flo was still more active it was only me and one other dude on the board that ever heard of him. But he has a great ear for circuits, to which Tristan can (I think) attest from the Harmonic Percolator I've sold him.

Anyway, Flo has grown to be a friend and he is also back in the pedal making biz. His first pedal is a crossover mixer/blender (I think they are called?) similar to a Tym Big Bottom or a Xotic X-Blender. But while those pedals both act like an fx loop that only the high frequencies pass through, Flo's pedal has two fx loops. One for the upper and one for the lower spectrum. So you can flange the lows while you fuzz the treble. I can think of tons of great applications for this.

Flo is a great dude and I think you should check his stuff if you are experiencing problems with punch, low end loss or if this idea just sparks off weird ideas in your brain too.

Here is his site and Facebook:

Bonus: a picture of his pedal on the board of Brian Cook / Russian Circles:

I thought a great subtle use might be two different verbs, maybe plate for the lows and spring for the highs. Or set it so that the lower end gets a Hi-Gain distortion for the chugga-chugga and the top strings get a glitchy atari treatment. Or two different vibe speeds for the ultimate seasickness?

Dude have you posted this over on Talkbass? I feel like everyone and their mother used to pine for separate low/hi FX loop

Hot damn, that is one tight looking pedal. Had a look at all the old custom stuff and it all looks insanely sweet. I've always wanted to blend fuzzes like this. Lots of fun possibilities. Can't wait to see what he comes up with next!

That blend looks really, really cool. Definitely going to keep an eye out for the second run.

That's really nice. It's a great idea. I always like new and interesting "utility" pedals. I'm going to have to keep an eye out.

looks really good, really expensive and really unobtanium :D but i'm getting so many ideas for the routing and i'm pretty basic, so imagine what some people could do :)

Awesome, I've always wanted to try a crossover thing in my rig. Shame I missed out on the run that came with wine. :(

Feel free to copy my post over to TB. I don't think I will make an account over there just for plugging my buddy's pedal biz. :)

I would but I've been banned over there for like 5 years now.

Pretty much this... I can think of about a hundred uses for this (especially if that big knob is the cutoff frequency for where the signal splits into "high" and "low")...

I always dug Flo's aesthetic (from the HCFX dayz), the "Model R" Rat and his SuperFuzz were always some of my favourite pedal designs period...

So could you potentially use this to split your signal into two separate chains? So I could run all my lows into a synth chain with an analog octaver and a filter or something and then run my highs through a bunch of dirt and a Whammy and delay and then recombine it all for hugeness?

Yup! There is no limit to the amount of pedals you put in those fx loops.

I'm not completely sure about the controls, but I've got the impression the LP and HP filters that split the loop are adjustable independently. So you could have both loops overlapping too.

Nice, that has me started thinking now ...
I could drop an occasional comment on some bass forums (I'm no good at getting banned.)

Phew, hey guys. This is Flo, neoflox from the old hcfx days. I just came across this thread. Great to see some one liking the pedal. I hope it is okay to comment on the topic meaning it's not advertising. If so, please delete my post. I meant to get involved in this nice board for a while anyways.

The Integrail works a tiny bit different from what it's descibed here. It is a 2-channel looper but with 24db/oct hi- and low-pass filters on each of the two channels. So you can have one channel just working with the low end, the other one just with the high end or the full signal, or combine it however you like. HP is around 400Hz and up, LP is 200Hz and down. The big knob is the blend control between the two channels. That's about it. I love how you already came up with ideas how to put it in use. I haven't covered them all yet myself, there seem to be plenty…
However, there will be another small run of these pedals in the coming weeks. Most likely matched with wine again. Look me up on facebook and instagram if you're interested. There will be no pre-order. Just a countdown and first-come-first-serve.

Cheers!
Thanks, Mr.phantasmagorovich :hello:

ps. it's "Jupiter Effects"
