Sound Saw squeal?

I went to put my OG Sound Saw back on the board today and was reminded of a persistent issue that it really only likes to be first in the chain or else there is a high pitched squeal in most settings. I tried isolating the power supply, and tried using a battery, but it didn't help. Seems like it just hates having buffers and digital pedals on front of it? That sucks because I want it LAST!

Anyone else run into this, or have any ideas of other things I could try?

I had one of those, and the coolest thing to do with it was blast it with a fuzz and make a super destructo fuzz. If this was not possible, I would assume it was broken?

Yeah it really does need to be last.

DBA will repair it for free I think.

This works (and my fuck yes it makes a fuzz explode!), but it depends on the pedal. My dirts and fuzzes are fine before (I tried running just a fuzz and the SS and no squeal) because they're analog, but I'm also running a SMMH and a M9 and putting the Saw after them I get the squeal. I imagine it could just be the nature of the circuit, but was hoping someone else with one could chime in. I would be especially interested in hearing from someone with a Glass Hero Sound Saw.

I've got a DBA and Glass Hero Sound Saw and do not have this problem with either. Last year i was able to spend some time with two of the other DBA SS circuits...I have the third circuit, as far as I understand it there are three different circuits...and I never had any noise problems with any of them. Like neon said DBA should be willing to fix it for you what with their lifetime warranty.

The DBA sound saws all had weird things about them.. I own two DBA and i build a replica circuit.. My replica circuit fixes some of the stability issues the original circuit had, along with a few other things..

Do you have the 2 transistor, 5 transistor or OpAmp version?

Also this should be last or right before the a wah that will be last in the pedalchain.. I've used all the Sound saws i own (and more of the ones i build) on my pedalboard which has a digital Boss pedal (ps-5) and i only get squeals when i do things to make it squeal..

Thanks for chiming in! I know I posted gut shots at one point, but can't seem to find them. I believe it's a V2 if I am remembering the discussion we had about it awhile back. If it makes any difference it's #37 from 2003, and it looks like UG's here: viewtopic.php?f=149&t=11555&start=24315#p854992
