My deluxe reverb just died for the third time. This time was at a show so I'm pissed. If I sell it I can by a ampeg vt-22. Is that a good idea? Will it be more reliable or should I just fix my amp? Any other amps I should look at?

I'm playing indie rock and I don't have any speaker requirement. I do prefer 12s. It has to be tube.

Do you play clean or dirty indie, do you use amp or pedal dirt, does it have to have trem or verb???

I'm pretty dirty most of the time. All of my dirt comes from pedals so the amp has to be fairly clean. I get all my trek and reverb from pedals as well so I don't need it in the amp.

And I should say that I love the way the deluxe sounds I'm just sick of the reliability issues.

You must have (be?) a terrible tech guy or the amp really sucks.

Is it a reissue?

If it doesn't Have to be tube I'd suggest a JC-120 cause they clean as hell and loud and reliable and has indie mojos...

Ya its a fairly recent reissue. Idk I think my tech is pretty good.

I've never tried a jc-120 but I'm worried about getting a super huge fuzz sound out of a non-tube amp.

It's different with solid state but definitely not impossible. Ive had some super sweet fuzz sounds with solid state.

That's what the pedlols are for, depends on what you got... I've never had a problem obtaining huge fuzz with SS amps... Ever thought about playing through a 15"???

Just saying one of the hugest dirt sounds I've made was a DOD Hard Rock Distortion through a JC120. Things are heavy as fuck though.

If i had the money I'd be all over a science amp. I'll start looking into a jc-120 and see if I can find any good clips.
