The ones I see mentioned around here are the Nine Of Swords Tyrant, then there's the Minotaur Fuzz & Burn and the Black Arts Toneworks Ritual is supposed to be based on a Meathead as well but I think the last one lacks a bit a punch and I personally prefer the Pharaoh out of the BAT line.

The Sunmachine Fuzz O))) also comes to mind and Jimmy Behan builds Meathead clones as well.

Sunmachine ain't cheap I think, Jimmy Behan isn't too expensive but apart from BAT they're all in the EU/UK I'm afraid.

The Ritual is a One-Knob Fuzz, technically: but the difference between that and the meathead is very slight.

I feel like there are many builders in the shark tank and the DIY sections of our site who could make you a really rad one.

Did you try a Meathead as well as a Ritual?
Sharktank definitely, I know Ben79, Dunwich, Jero and Stupid Dream 88 from here have build some.

Dude, Kaos has been building kits from an English company that sell a meathead PCB for dirt cheap. Hit him up for the deets. He might even be able to sort you out on the cheap.

I have a Meathead Dark clone from Stupid Dream 88 / Aaron / ARC effects. Love it on bass, one of my main bass dirt pedals. Like it a lot with guitar through my tube amps, but tried it with guitar through a solid state bass amp at band volume for the first time tonight, and it was too muddy. Had the amp dialed in for a different pedal tho, might be able to dial it in better.

Savage Henry was another One Knob/ Meathead variant, made to be more garagey and fried out.

+1, I have one he built, it sounds great, plus it has an oscillation knob and switchable tone circuit

Yeah guilty as charged on both accounts. Glad you're still digging it morange. I tried to make it as perfect and as versitile as I could. It's probably some of my best work. Though my wiring has got a little neater since doing that one.
