I've heard a lot of hype about the "green" and the "civil war" big muff, and I was wondering which one is the best?
Second, I was wondering if there was any worthwhile clones of these pedals?

The civil war muff gets hype because gilmour used it...which is best you can debate. The civil war is just a smoothed out green.
What do you mean worthwhile? Do you want faithful clones or modern tweaks on the design?
My favorite green muff based boutiques are the blackout effectors musket and the earthquaker devices hoof.

There are a million muffs out there, usually cheaper and better than a "real" green muff.
Even I make one.

Truth be told, I have an NYC reissue and a Little Big Muff. I love them both, they do what I want a Big Muff to do.

I also have a NYC reissue that I love, but with a Gibson SG and a Sunn Beta Lead it can be to much fuzz sometimes. I've played with a Sovtek reissue and I found it can give me a cleaner fuzz. I was just wondering if I should go with a vintage sovtek/boutique or even just stick with the reissue.

You can always build your own and tweak the ever loving hell out of it till it sounds like you want it to:

The Muff Fuzz was named that way innocently actualy, just called that because it sounded muffled.

HOW DID THEY NOT REALIZE???????
...I want a swollen pickle... any experience with them anybody?

That doesn't explain them later naming the "Big Muff Pi".
They realized. I think the "muffled" explanation is just the p.c. version of the story.

i have a swollen pickle....oh wait...you mean the way huge swollen pickle? . . nevermind. mine not so huge.
jokes aside...i do have the swollen pickle and i find it to be too sterile. i like the fat sandwich better than the pickle.
and staying with the OG topic....
does anyone know if EH reissued (or plan to) the big muff deluxe? i always liked that version.

WTF on all the Muff variations?! They should make a Master Muff with the circuitry from the entire Muff history with rotary switches to go between certain aspects of all the Muffs. Then you could make your own on the fly. Might be a job for the BYOC, me, and someone with a drill press....

Dice works makes a few "all in one" crazy muff pedals...plenty of knobs and switches on the muff diver finale or epic.
