Are you using one? What's in the loop? Any advice on how to drop effects in and out of the loop? Do you love the ninja turtles? Please answer these important questions.

I have one that I wont be able to play until tomorrow, but im planning on throwing my cheapies in the loop. Berhinger super fuzz for sublows, pn-2 clone for rhythmic wobbles, PM7 for fixed filter resonance. and maybe a cathedral for extra spaciness.

I know there are loopers out there where you can swap pedals in and out of the fx loop, dunno the companies though.

I love the Superego but I've never figured out why I'd want to have a pedal in the loop rather than just after.

I use the loop with a phaser for cheesyness and a delay with modulation for space wobble. I can make it sound very much like a glitchy Vox Continental or Farfisa.
The loop is good for organ-ish drones and Eno-ambience. I use it for an extra layer of floaty stuff on top of my floaty stuff.

I want one so I can put my goatkeeper in the loop, instant Raptio! Also a Tc Flashback with the stereo out connected to the stereo in.

I love the Ninja Turtles but hated the new movie
never tried a super ego
have had the freeze and couldn't make it do what I thought I wanted it to
would I like the super ego more??

The SuperEgo is certainly more versatile than the Freeze. Does drones and cheesy string patches and the effects loop expand it's sounds a lot. I love it and use it all the time. I have some crappy clips of my SuperEgo in various configurations here:

As of last night i have my zoom multi pedal thingo in the loop
A touch of reverb, delay and an eq to filter out some of the harsh highs. Gonna experiment with more weirdness today

Because pedals in the loop only affect the captured sounds and not your "live" guitar. So for example, say you set up a drone with a phaser, tremolo, and reverb in the loop. You can then play a solo over that drone that doesn't go through the phaser, tremolo, and reverb. You can have your solo just go though whatever other pedals you have in the normal chain, or even just play clean if you wanted.

That makes sense. I guess I didn't think of that because I only ever use it in Auto mode so there's not really a difference between captured and live sounds.

Well, it still has benefits that way as well. Say you were playing a song where you only kick on the superego at a certain point in the song. If you have pedals in the loop, those effects will all kick on once you engage the superego just like any other pedal with a loop does. So you can activate multiple pedals with the touch of a toe. So in this circumstance I would have to amend my original comment of it not affecting the live guitar sound. In this mode it would.

There are a lot of good answers for what to put in the Superego loop. There is only one right answer though: Instant lofi junky. :thumb:

someone posted a super awesome demo of shit they did using the superego and it's loop some time back. i'm going to try to find it. i wanted this person to start a project based on this demo. it was killer drone stuff.

i found it. demo is the first post in the thread. it will make anyone drool over this pedal and will make you super stoked about the loop. it will also make you wish you could be in a band with the original poster.
