advice on Fuzz/Distortions for drone/stoner/etc

SO yeah
reccomendations? I'm hoping to stray from the noise element of drone into a more ambient/post-metal sort of territory so I'm not looking for something wild and noisy, just something thick and meaty. Yanno. As far as I can tell, Devi's Hyperion and Aenima seem like either would fit the bill but Im judging pedals from youtubes and clips and so I thought I'd ask some people who might actually own some of these pedals and see what they have to say about it. Right now the only distortion I'm working with is a hissy, nasally Boss that the music store sold my parents with my first guitar, so, I'm in need of an upgrade.

I would recommend the Soda Meiser or for more versatility--though added bux--the Cherry Pop (the Soda Meiser with a tone knob--well worth the extra $30). Exactly what you're looking for. The Hype would also do, but not quite as thick as the SM or CP to my ears. The Aenima is thick, but in a much more trashy, trebly way.

The SM is probably the best bassy fuzz I've heard but I can't get Teh Kyuss from it. I can get Teh Kyuss from the Aenima, but it's noisy as all hell and not quite fuzzy enough for songs like Demon Cleaner(probably my Tele's fault). Likely one of the double pedals would be your best bet.

I use to play stoner stuff sometimes and i've got to say the same. Soda Meiser.
A big muff won't do any harm

Big Muff I wouldn't recommend if you have single coils though. It has a very vintage fuzz sound(well that's what it is) in comparison with more modern fuzzes. For stuff like Electric Wizard you'd need active pickups or high output humbuckers.

I'd get the earthbound supercollider. Or the sketch fuzz from penny pedals when it's out. Or the DAM Meathead (if you can hack the cash) I'm building a clone (same trannies and all) as I can't afford one.
Haven't tried the Devi's so I can't comment.

+1 on Cherry Pop. It's the Soda Meiser circuit, which just about everyone here loves, but with the addition of a tone knob, which can really take you from fizzy sizzle-land to CRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSHING LOWWWWWWWWWWWWWS. I use it on bass, and believe you me, it can really jiggle your bowels on some easy-to-dial-in settings.

Malekko Assmaster - Silicon or Germanium would do the trick.

I got an Aenima for more snarly doom/stoner sounds, and I'm using an Eau Claire thunder or hair of the dog for the thicker rhythm things. The SM also does a pretty amazing representation of the guitar sound on Earth's Divine and Bright.
Maybe you should save your pennies for a DEVI NEVER?!?!? Devi and I are working together on a TP/SM superpedal for Pedals for Peace.
