Hey just wondering if anyone has built a Unidrive clone. I'm about to build one from a kit,
and wondering if you used the original 2SC859 transistors or some other combo of transistors to achieve the same result? I've already purchased the expensive (about $16 AUD shipped) for the 3x2SC859 transistors. Is there any magic in these trannys or did I over pay for the mojo factor?
What transistors did you use and what do you think of the end result?

Just finished the build. It is probably a closer relation to the Creepy Fingers Doomidrive than a Univox Unidrive clone. I researched the Unidrive and found it had some sort of 6 position switch to set the level of Gain. My version has a pot much like the Doomidrive. This pedal is awesome. I'm probably biased because I built lt. I probably in hindsight should of socketed the transistors for experimenting but oh well. Fuck it. I'm really happy with the sound on the 2sc859 transistors. So much bottom end but can do a treble boost too.

Pot is probably better than a 6 position switch anyway.

Now I just have to finish wiring a build I'm going to call the Dual Cocksniffer. Which is a clone of a cocksniffer pedal that is based on a Cocksniffer Amp.

Dual Cocksniffer Overdrive pedal complete and works well. Sounds very well...... Cocksnifferish. You can actually hear the crystal lattice working. It makes my amplifier sound like an amplifier that I can't afford. Anyway off to play some lawyer blues. I just need to buy myself a Strat and I'll be good to go.

How are you liking the unidrive? always was curious about that one.
