I need a small pedal power.

Any opinions on the VOLTO or fuel tank jr?

Any other in the same price range and compact size I should look at?

I've looked at voltos a few times. I love the idea and it should meet my needs perfectly. Have no real experience at all though.

Never used a VOLTO, but I can speak to the Fuel Tank Jr., at least. I currently have two of them, and while they're not necessarily the most exciting power supply, they're small, relatively affordable and they get the job done. I like that each output provides 120mA (as I recall, at least), as that's enough to cover most standard, non-Strymon/Eventide/weird EHX pedals.

These are really very different power supplies.

Volto: two outputs, supply a total of 2000ma. Probably a good option if you're looking for something that's super portable. Like busking portable.

Fuel Tank Junior: provides constant 120ma current to five separate isolated power sources.

The Volto's probably not going to run more than three pedals very long before you have to recharge it. Whereas the Fuel Tank can run five pedals at full power for as long as you want and not have any noise from daisy-chaining your power. If you absolutely have to play where you don't have power get the Volto, otherwise get the Fuel Tank Junior.

Ah shoot. I thought the Fuel tank was a chargable power source. All the pics online led me to believe this!

So. Now to rephrase. Lol. Anything comparable to the VOLTO I should consider. :P

It needs to be plug and play for this specific application.

It's a portable demo board for a business. So it needs to go where needed, and have no need to find a plug in. Short usage time is fine. I'm sure an hour max use.

with those needs, I am not aware of anything besides the VOLTO that would do the job.

Sanyo pedal juice was on the market before the volto.

Haven't used either though.

You could try a 12v battery pack and step down the voltage. It would also work well for pedals that need 12v. Wheelchair batteries care 12v and hold a long charge. Or get a Ryobi or cheap 9v tool with a battery and use that. Or 18v and step it down: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Ryobi-18-Vol ... /100086262 that way you'd have a back up.

Just to add: it looks like normal 9.6v batteries work http://www.harmonycentral.com/forum/for ... 9/1792847-. Makita style ones are cheap and have a good life. I will check it out in a bit to see if it will power a pedal.
