"blown speaker" style OD

So I have a Fuck OD but it's kinda overkill for my board currently. I figure I can probably build something similiar. I'm really just looking for a low gain-OD/gritty boost circuit that nails blown speaker/crackling fuck-style tones. Anyone know of anything? I've tried starving Rangemasters and SHOs and it doesn't quite do it. Any other ideas? I'd prefer something relatively simple that I can do on vero. Thanks!!!

You can usually make most fuzz circuits sound like a busted speaker by janking up the bias good n proper. Instead of starving the whole circuit, try tweaking the collector resistor values and leaving the voltage at 9v for the rest of the circuit.

Cool I'll try that. I'll go for a fuzz face first. I'm just also trying to get something pretty low gain.

yeah the fuck crackle is envelope controlled bias. messin with the bias is the way to go. check out the ssbs mini demos to see if a static bias change will get you where to want.
