Wut fuzz am I looking for?

What's it based on? A buzzaround circuit perhaps? It might be the tuning or doomuy riffs, but that clip sounds more saturated and sludgy than your typical buzzaround. And most of all, since this particular pedlol seems out of producion and rare...What's my best bet for a similar sounding alternative?

I can't say I need another fuzz pedal, but if I can find a similar sounding demo of another pedal that's affordable and easily avaialble...There's a good chance I won't be able to resist.

Could be a silicon FF with a big input cap and some tweaks.

I think a TAFM would get you there, no?

maybe a Dark Meathead might be a good choice? or a clone, obviously...

I wish the guy played into a crunchy amp as well. feels like it would sound better

never trust a fat guy with an 18 watt amp.

I think it's more fuzzy, clear, punchy and heavy than a TAFM or a Fuzz Face derivate.
A Pharaoh maybe but that probably also isn't fuzzy enough, the LSTR isn't clear, punchy and heavy enough in my opinion (too much like a standard Muff), I guess the Emanating Fist 6618 is closest from what I played so far.
Maybe a Buzzaround or Dizzy Tone but I don't think those are heavy and fuzzy enough for this sound either.
Don't forget that it's a Vox style EL84 amp, some pedals tend to sound more fuzzy on those amps than on others so that could also be contributing to the fuzzy sound, though I'm not sure whether those Dr Z amps have that quality as I tried quite a few and they all sounded quite clinical to me.

Sorry guys, but ss/bs is the standard answer to all fuzz related questions here, it's hard to take it very serious anymore and not write it off to mass hysteria or something ;p
Anyway, I'm only looking at pedals that have at least one half decent demo online, since there's no way in hell any of these boutique pedals will ever pop up locally, and I'll have to buy sight unseen.

Going on the demos I find online, a pharaoh doesn't come very close imo :idk:
Had a LSTR for while, sounded more like a Sovtek muff to me, boomy and heavy, in a completely different way :idk:

I'll look into the other pedals that were mensioned. I'd still love to hear from someone who knows the insides of the rumblefuzz's insides though :excellent:

What kinda amp do you have again?

Not quite the same either, but similarly evil sounding in it's own way:

Sludgy downtuned riffs starting at around 2:00

I still like the rumblefuzz a bit more, but the baby thunda should be lots easier to come by. Anyone care to weigh in? Or sel me their baby thunda? :p

Fender ToneMaster head, and a jcm 800 4x12.
Vox AC15C2 for home noodling and backup.
And a traynor YBA-1 that's gathering dust. It's probably my favorite amp, but it's in dire need of new tubes and a full checkup, and I'm too lazy and stinchy to take it to a tech

Yeah, Buzzarounds were going to be my suggestion too - ARC Effects does one. Are they still active anymore? Anyhow, their page on the pedal (the Crimson King) has some Burgs demos of it:

Too weak in my opinion, I played the ECT and it just doesn't feel like you're slamming your guitar if you know what I mean, suffers from a common Muff syndrome.
I guess people fall into one camp or the other, there's the guys who feel like the ECT, LSTR and some older EHX Muffs etc. are the heaviest things on earth and there's guys who don't think so, for the latter group there's Muff variants like for instance the Pharaoh and EFE 6618 which just have way more immediate punch and attack at the loss of some gain and low end rumble.
From what I hear in that clip the Rumblefuzz also falls more into the latter category, mind that it's probably more a feel than a sound question, for me some pedals just feel weak when I play them because they don't punch me in the gut right away when I hit my guitar.
